11 Buildings in Maphar Demolished

At least 11 buildings owned by some community organization and street vendors located along Beton River and Jl Kebon Jeruk 2, 3, 15 and 17 Maphar Urban Village, Taman Sari, West Jakarta, demolished. Demolishment itself was conducted by 30 officers of Satpol Pp and Infrastructures and Public Facilities Public (PPSU).

"There were party, community organization posts and street vendors stalls demolished due to violating Bylaw No.8/2007 on Public Order standing on bridge, channel and roadside," said aheqd of Maphar Urban Village, Mahpud, Friday (12/25). 

He told that his side has repeatedly sent warning letter to the owners to demolish their own building.

"Commonly, they understood and realized then demolished by their own. As for the posts, we executed them directly as they have no choice beside have to be orderly," he told

He added, after the demolishment, his side intends to dredge and deepen the water channel using one heavy equipment owned by Taman Sari Sub-District. 

"Since the demolishment has been done, we will surely dredge and deepen the channel," he disclosed.
